StonkDrop Settlement Lifecycle

Contract reference. The deployed contract source stays authoritative.

How a paid drop becomes a payout. Terms are defined in the Glossary.

The settlement lifecycle. A player calls commitSpins, which takes payment in USDG, locks in the odds, a drand round and the pricing time, and reserves the biggest possible prize for each spin. When drand publishes the round, each prize's rarity, value and stock follow from it. Anyone can then settle: the prize is paid in stock when it can be delivered safely, and otherwise as its exact value in USDG. Player commitSpins Commit paid in USDG odds, drand round and pricing time locked in biggest possible prize reserved per spin drand publishes the round Prize fixed rarity, value and stock follow from the round anyone settles Payout stock can be delivered safely Stock Token otherwise exact USDG

Commit

commitSpins pays for one or more spins in USDG. It locks in the odds, the drand round that will decide the outcome (a few seconds ahead), and the pricing time. It also sets aside enough USDG to cover the biggest possible prize for every spin. If anything fails, nothing is paid.

Reveal

When drand publishes the round, every spin's rarity, value, and stock follow from it. Nobody, StonkDrop included, can change them, so the app reveals them right away. The round sits 3 drand rounds, 7 to 9 seconds, past the commit block's timestamp, so nobody can know them earlier either, as long as the chain's block timestamps stay within a few seconds of real time.

Settle

Anyone can settle a spin — a relayer, or the player from the app — and the prize always goes to the wallet that paid. Its value was reserved at the commit, and it is paid in stock, priced as of the commit, or as its exact value in USDG if stock can't be delivered safely.
